Takealot dont care

I bought a Smeg kettle from takealot. I want to register the kettle at Smeg UK as the instructions stipulated. I couldnt register the kettle due to the fact that Smeg UK cant trace the specific serial number. I emailed takealot asking why is this specific serial number not on Smeg UK database? I spoke to 4 different people by email and the last one told me to short it out with the manufacturer.....???? I dont think takealot people understand so clearly, if a manufacturer cant pick up a serial number then it means that it is not their product...

So my question is....how could I bought a kettle from takealot thats brand saying Smeg, but UK Smeg doesnt know anything about this kettle? Where do takealot get their stock from??

I will never buy anything from takealot again, the trust is gone!
