Takealot does not respect the consumer's rights
I recently bought a Fitbit from Takealot. The reason I bought it was to track my steps and monitor my heart rate. But shortly after starting to wear it I started having a pain in my arm. I decided to stop wearing it to see if the pain went away and it did. After I had confirmed that the Fitbit causes me great discomfort when I wear it, even if it is only for short periods, I decided to return it to Takealot as it was still within the first month of purchasing the product and well within my right to change my mind. I returned the Fitbit along with the additional charger (which I hadn't even used) to Takealot and asked for my refund. Without any communication from them I received everything back with a decline on it. I have read and reread all the returns policies and for the life of me I can't understand how it was declined. I am well within my rights as a consumer to return a product before a certain time if I changed my mind, which happened here. But Takealot is not giving me back my money and they aren't willing to take back the product which I won't be using since it causes me great discomfort when I use it. What is even more frustrating is that Takealot does not have a call centre or an e-mail address that you can contact to find out what went wrong. Further they will sms you to tell you that the product will be collected on say Tuesday and then pitch on Monday. Further no communication was received that they were delivering the declined product on the people doing the delivery have nothing to identify them as Takealot personnel.
