Takealot description not matching the product received.

I ordered a Hisense Washing Machine 10KG from Takealot where the ad stipulates that the Machine has built in WiFi and Auto Dosing. Upon receiving and testing the Machine, to my surprise did not have WiFi, nor does it not do the Auto Dosing as per the description on the ad. I logged a return and was advised via email as I had used it to wipe it clean and wrap it again (after telling them I do not have the original wrapping), and went with what was told to me. It was also stated on email that I can order another Machine with these features and pay in the difference. I already received the new Machine and I am extremely happy with it, but Takealot still declined my return as per their policy stating that I have used it. Why could they not have told me to rather wait until the return has been concluded before I made another purchase?
