TakeALot declines return on broken item received.

I am so upset. I am a single mom of three, relyent on donations for food ext. I bought an item for my daughter's birthday, I recieved it, and the plastic was a bit open, over the toy, which I didn't mind, it was just a little dirt. We open it for her birthday, and the cut the cable ties to insert new batteries, and the inside of the battery chamber is rusted, it doesn't work with new batteries, as I presume that it is because the item was so old. Now Takealot declines my return because the item was used! How de hell, it does not even work. My child did not get a birthday present, and these guys are laughing to the bank. I am very disappointed and upset about this. I did not even ask my money back, I requested a voucher to buy my child something else. They get one star, because I cant give zero.
