“Takealot Declined My Return for ‘Wet Damage’ on an Unused Tool

Ordered an ingco corded circular saw from Takealot and realized immediately after opening the box that I mistakenly ordered the corded version instead of the cordless model.

The unit was never used, plugged in, or exposed to water. I repackaged it carefully exactly as received and logged a return.

Takealot declined the return claiming the unit was “wet” and supp**** inspection photos that do not reflect the condition in which the item was handed over for collection. The packaging and condition shown in the photos are disputed entirely.

I have requested escalation, chain-of-custody clarification, and a formal review, as I do not accept responsibility for damage or condition changes that did not occur while the item was in my possession.

Very disappointing experience, especially as I have never previously abused the returns process.
