Takealot deceives with their cancellation of order notices

Recently bought a speaker from Takealot. I had already paid for this order when Takealot let me know that they could no longer source this product. But when I checked, the speaker was still advertised on their site - at a higher price though.

Upon inquiry I was told that they just couldn't source the speaker from that specific supplier, but that it is available from a different supplier on their site...at the higher price.

My issues: 1. My transaction is not with the supplier, it's with Takealot. When I've already paid for an order, it's not really my concern where they source it from. If it is at a higher price, then they need to take that knock if they've already made me pay for the order. That would simply be honouring our transaction. 2. If Takealot does want to ***** their customers over because they don't want to honour the transaction and pay more, then be honest about it in the cancellation notice. Tell me straight that it is still available but that I'd have to pay more for it.

My partner had exactly the same thing happen with a phone cover.

Scaly. Deceptive. I'm not into it at all.
