TAKEALOT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS PITIFUL - AS A SOUTH AFRICAN COMPANY THEY ARE AN EMBARRASSMENT TO OUR COUNTRY

I ordered a solar battery from Takealot (***).

I paid, my money was accepted and the transaction was processed.

A few days later I receive a message that the battery is sold out. I go to the site - no indication that the batteries are now sold out.

I query this and get the runaround. I inform the agents that the appropriate response from them was to offer something of equal or greater value for the same price.

Absolute disdain.

I then indicate a different battery and say I'll take this one, and ask for a discount.

Lol! More word salad bs.

This is not the first problem I, and so many people I know, have had with Takealot, it seems there is more often than not some issue.

Their customer service is appalling and though I often attempt to buy from local companies rather than Temu or similar, this total disrespect, lack of professionalism and obviously a customer service procedure created by someone who doesn't give a damn makes it increasingly difficult.
