Takealot cell phones

My husband purchased not one but TWO Invens S2 cellphones on the Takealot Website and received the items on the 05 November 2021 and would like to highlight the most disgusting experience I have ever come across. Feels like we have been ****med! On the day when both cell phones were being delivered the Takealots Courier guy could not deliver the items to my house due to being stuck; however, I was so happy I asked my husband to collect the cell phones so he drove towards the Courier guy to collect the items. Phone 1 (Invens S2) - on the SECOND DAY of making use of my new cellphone, I set up my facial recognition in order to unlock the cellphone - while setting up the facial recognition it requested a PIN number and I used the year which I was born in; therefore, it is not even hard to remember my new PIN number. The phone was working fine the whole day (on the second day) allowing me to unlock my cell phone with the facial recognition; however, the evening (after roughly 10 times of unlocking my phone) I attempted to unlock my cellphone with the facial recognition to no success – the cellphone then requested for my PIN number to be entered also TO NO SUCCESS - NOW THE FACIAL RECOGNITION DOES NOT WORK AND I CANNOT EVEN ENTER MY PIN NUMBER WHICH IS THE YEAR I’VE BEEN BORN IN!!! I notified Takealot of my issue - within the 7 days of purchasing the cellphone they collected the item on the 08 November 2021; however, Jayson B emailed me to say: ‘We have received and evaluated your returned item however, noticed that you failed to include the accessories when returning your product. Item arrived with a password on please do confirm for evaluation purposes’. Please note all the items was included, my husband has been a Manager at Pick ‘n Pay for nearly 20 years – it is general knowledge to include all items when returning an item to be evaluated. What amazed me was they returned the cell phone with all the items, without being assessed? What kind of circus am I dealing with? Needless to say, I was SHOCKED! In addition, I emailed numerous times and I received an email response to notify me that it is the wrong password entered, we should be removing the password and the phone will be sent back; however, it’s a brand new cell phone and it’s not even allowing me to enter my PIN number WHICH IS THE YEAR I’VE BEEN BORN IN!!! A brand new cell phone, that does not accept my facial recognition and now is not allowing me to enter my PIN number – I don’t even know how to proceed from here as I still have the phone and Takealot cannot even assist me in this regard. Phone 2 (Invens S2 for my daughter) – the LCD had a problem within 4 or 5 days of purchasing the cell phone - somehow it seemed off colour, I notified Takealot as no damage occurred from my daughter and they collected the cell phone on the 11 November 2021. Waited quite a while and got feedback stating - her phone is cracked at the bottom, but there was no crack at the bottom when they collected the phone on the 11 November 2021. When the phone returned we checked and to our surprise there was a slight scratch on the screen and we ended up wondering how that small scratch can cause the LCD to allow such a major problem. Keep in mind, before sending the cell phone away for repairs – there was no scratch on the screen!!! I am utterly disgusted in the service I received regarding the 2-cell phone’s I purchased from Takealot’s online Website, and it honestly feels like I have been ****med. And if this means I have to escalate my matter to the Ombudsman I will surely do so because it is probably the make/model of this cell phone that caused this unfortunate dilemma; therefore, I want a replacement with a completely different brand! Or my money back please as I followed the correct process by notifying Takealot within the 7-day period.
