Takealot cannot even get the basics of a delivery service right

I ordered an item from Takealot.com and paid extra to have the item delivered to my home on a specific day, as it is my day off from work, and I had time to be at home to receive the item. I was told that the item would be delivered by 1:00 pm on this day. I waited at home the whole morning and around 12:00 pm, I received a text saying that "Takealot tried to deliver my item, but couldn't." Well, I don't think they tried very hard because I was at home and no-one even tried to call me on my phone to let me know they were here.

So I called Takelot and the guy said "Well, the delivery guys have to phone customers at their own expense, so I guess some of the delivery guys just don't bother phoning the customers".

Can you believe this? When a company cannot fulfill the one specific service they are meant to provide, in this case DELIVERY OF AN ITEM, then you really have to wonder.
