Takealot brush off fault with little regard to client

I am deeply disappointed at the response of Takealot to my purchase and it is extremely relevant and disconcerting even to other prospective buyers if this is the manner how they treat clients.

I would like to bring your attention to the following facts about my purchase: 1 The item supp**** was not what I ordered. 2 The item that was supp**** was also available at the time of the purchase. I did not select the supp**** item. 3 The reason I did not select the supp**** item is due to the size of the battery box that I already had, it does not fit in it. 4 The item supp**** was at the time of selection available at a cheaper price R1949 than the one that I did select R1989. 5 However, the claim is made by Takealot to supply the cheaper one at the same price that I paid for the one that would have fitted in my battery box is alarming and not ethical. 6 Takealot sent the same one back to me a second time. Really, after I had sent it back with the reason why it was not acceptable. Aphiwe wrote to me on 7 September to say: “Kindly be advised that replacement for the correct item has been made . Your order number is *** and the order is expected to be delivered Monday the 7th of September” . 7 Takealot then have the simplistic view that they will just credit my account, and I am sitting without a battery since 24 August 2026 and unable to make progress with my project. 8 The reason now that the supplier does not have stock or at the price paid is really not acceptable. 9 The fault was not mine at the time of the first delivery nor at the second and is not mine now and therefor the correction of the fault should not be my responsibility.

Leaving this matter as is, is simply not acceptable.

Hoping you can arrange to make amends to the damages that have been caused. The remedy is I am seeking a new battery or similar with specifications of: Length: 350mm Width: 170mm Hight: 180mm And specification of 100Ahr storage.

Any adjustment of price should not have to be paid by the client.
