Takealot Bosch Coffee Machine Disaster

I bought a Bosch - 1500W Veroaroma 500 Automatic Coffee Machine for R10,000 on 4 July 2018 from Takealot.

It worked well until April 2019 when it stopped working, at first it started making weak and inconsistent coffee and then one day it grinded continuously until all the beans were finshed/grinded and then it just kept grinding (nothing) until it had to be unplugged to stop the grinding...

I returned it via the Takelot return service and a month later (20 May 2019) the until was returned to me supposedly fixed by Bosch.

It still did not work and was still broken. It again made inconsistent coffee, sometimes weak sometimes strong but mostly too weak. It also no longer warmed the milk properly so all coffees ended up cold and terrible.

I returned it to takealot again on 1 June 2019 this time specifically asking for the unit to be replaced and not repaired again, for obvious reasons.

I have now on 20 June 2019 been informed by Takelot that unless I accept Bosch's quote for R2400 to repair it again (against my wishes and whilst the unit is still under warranty) nothing will be done to the machine.

I am thus now deprived of my coffee machine and being held randsom to pay R2400 to repair a unit that should be replaced as it is under warranty and that had already been "repaired" but not properly by Bosch. My options are thus to either not have it returned, or to have it returned broken or to pay R2400 to have it returned possibly still broken (based on Bosch's repair reputation on this machine).

I have thus wasted my R10,000 with Takealot and will have to go and buy a new coffee machine (somewhere else obviously) because the one I have bought has been taken from me in the unacceptable manner noted above.

I am now a number in takealot's automated return process and keep getting these unpersonal updates from agents who clearly does not understand my position nor care nor have knowledge of the return history of this coffee machine.

Needless to say I am very unhappy and will not buy anything so expensive at Takealot again because it is simply not worth the risk...
