Takealot blatant lies/false advertising & beguiling of Consumers must be dealt with by The National Consumer Council!
Takealot.com advertised a portable blender, with all pictures relating to the blender being a Ninja blender (not any other brand, but a Ninja blender), so it stands to reason that I was led to believe that I was purchasing a Ninja blender, only to receive some other portable blender instead.. I had screenshot pics of the entire ad, which did NOT contain any disclaimer stating that the pics are for illustration purposes only, and that they are by no means a representation of the actual product for sale. This sort of practice is dishonest, so as to trick consumers into making the purchase. As per the CPA, consumers should never be beguiled or misled! The CPA calls for absolute disclosure, stating that there should be no hidden T's&C's and no misleading information that co-erses consumers into making purchases! Takealot.com has probably been getting away with this sort of sly way of tricking consumers, and it's so wrong! They are obliged by law to supply the consumers with exactly what they advertised for sale, at the price they advertised it for, ie. what the consumers believed they purchased, as anything else would be false and misleading information/advertising and that is a breach of the CPA. There were several pics posted on the particular ad, all of which concerned a Ninja blender for sale, so I don't appreciate being **** to/beguiled and I intend to lodge a case against them with The NCC. Unfair, ************, dishonest practices need to be stopped!
