Takealot - Bad quality products

Bought an exercise bicycle from Takealot in January. End August the same year the welding on the frame broke. Now I understand that you have a limited warranty, but surely for a major issue like this (the actual structure) you might try and assist to get it repaired.

Firstly: It is a major pain to get hold of someone at Takealot, I only managed through Facebook Messenger.

Secondly; Takealot rep****: "We received feedback from our seller department and they have reached out to the seller directly however the seller informed us that unfortunately, they do not have any repair facilities. They would therefore be unable to instead offer to collect the item from you directly. Due to the warranty, a return cannot be logged on our system. Due to the implementation of the POPI Act, we are required to keep all information safe and would be unable to share this information from our end. This would mean both your information as well as the seller's information from our end. We are truly sorry for all inconvenience caused in this matter."

Thirdly: The "company" selling the item was called Byonline, and now they don't exist on the Takelot planform anymore. You can however buy the same bicycle from two different suppliers, which happens to sell exactly the same items. So it seems that the scheme is to setup different suppliers and just hop between them when customer service or quality products becomes too much of a hassle
