Takealot bad customer service

Worst possible service in SA!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a person that plans everything in life, as such I have been planning ahead for Christmas for months. I ordered a t-shirt for my husband from takealot for Christmas. I placed the order well in advance on the 9th of December. They kept changing the delivery date and then it seemed that it was finalised and delivery was scheduled for the 23rd of December, I was nervous about this as it was cutting it close but I thought atleast it will come before Christmas. The 23rd came and nothing was delivered and no one bothered to contact me from Takealot either. I tried numerous times on the 23rd to get hold of them but I was on hold for long periods (20+ minutes) at a time and then I would put the phone down and try again later but couldn’t manage to get through to anyone. The morning of the 24th of December I phoned them very early and I was told that due to the fact that there was an item that they were still waiting to receive I would only receive my order much later after Christmas. I asked them why I was not advised of this and why they didn’t deliver part of the order like they have always done in the past and no one could answer me. I was then told that the t-shirt had been located and will definitely be delivered before 17:00 that day. At around 12:30 a takealot driver delivered some of the items but not the t-shirt as promised, I phoned them again and again they said they will follow up and that I should receive it today. When I phoned yet again at 16:15, I was told that a note was made on their system at 11:41 that morning that the branch where the T-shirt was had lost it or someone had ****** it. So the whole day they kept lying to me, promising that it would be delivered yet they could clearly see on their system that I would not be receiving the T-shirt!!! At 16:15 on Christmas Eve all the shops are closed, if only they had been honest with me and told me the truth then I could have still made a plan to go and get my husband something else in the place of the T-shirt. This is really very bad to be dishonest with a customer. I have always been very; very fond of takealot and I buy from them on a monthly basis! I am absolutely horrified that this happened and the staff couldn’t just be honest about it earlier!!!
