Takealot and the R1 000

Until now, I have purchased many thousands of goods from Takealot. But, as another headline says, Takealot seems to have gone down the toilet — in my case, almost literally so. In the past week, I bought and paid an expensive router. To my delight, the occurred two days later: a lovely big box, albeit rather light. The delivery person handed over the box and left immediately. Upon opening the box, I discovered a package containing four toilet rolls! Needless to say, after the initial shock had subsided, I set about trying to contact Takealot. That, believe me, is no easy task. Eventually, I managed to tell my story on a complaints page. Since then, I've had to take photographs of the box, the toilet rolls and every barcode and QR code I was able to find and provide them to Takealot. Despite having comp**** with their every requirement, all I know is that Takealot is still conducting an "investigation". Meanwhile, the page reflecting all my orders still shows that Takealot duly delivered a router to me. The truth is, however, that I am in possession of four toilet rolls that cost me almost normal all R1 000,00
