Takealot ***** and Refund ****

I purchased an item from takealot and the item had to be replaced as it was defective. Unfortunately they no longer had replacement stock so they offered a refund. I then started the returns process which was initially handled very smoothly and swiftly up until I received an email asking me how I would like my refund. The 3 options were for them to repair the product and send it back to me, credit my takealot account or crediting my bank account.

I then ask them if it would be possible to credit a new account as I have since closed the bank account that I had used to purchase the item. Manfred M then responded by saying he will find out and revert back to me.

After that I received an email from Keegan D informing me that my refund had been credited into my bank account. At this point I am panicking and stressing as I did not give them the new details and as far as I know I was still waiting for Manfred to get back to me.

I then ask Keegan which account was credited and he tells me that the account on my profile was credited and I proceed to tell him that the account was closed and now he is ignoring my emails and no one has answers as to what happens now. I was very clear on the emails and takealot being takealot decided to do what they saw was fit and not listen to what I was saying as a customer. R1099 down the drain all because of their employees incompetence.

It is now the first of October, I have asked countless times for a proof of payment and they refuse. They keep sending me a spreadsheet not an actual proof payment. I have asked countless times to speak to a manager or supervisor, none ever calls back. It seems as though someone took my refund because I told them before they sent the refund that the card was closed but they rushed to send it anyway.

Now they have their item and I do not have my refund. Even FNB has confirmed that there is no refund on that account but takealot doesn't care. As long as they paid someone it doesn't matter who.

Disgusted.
