Takealot

If I had the option to give Takealot 0 stars, I would have. I am utterly disappointed. Takealot was my go to place. Whenever I wanted to buy gifts etc I would also order it from them. However, I will never buy from them again or recommend them to anyone!!!

This year I bought Christmas presents from Takealot. I bought a watch for my 7 year old son. We decided to open gifts earlier and he was really excited about his first watch. I went through hundreds of watches on the app, but picked this specific specific watch, since the advert showed an analogue Mickey Mouse face. Since my son will learn to read time this year, it was the perfect gift. After opening it, we only charged it and I realised the charger is not great. The next day we switched it on and there was no Mickey Mouse face. We decided to return the item.

By 23 December 2022 Takealot decided that the product had visible damage and voided the warrantee. Again, I want to emphasize that the watch was not even worn. So this means the watch we received was already damaged, the couriers damaged it or Takealot damaged it. I only received an email on 30 December 2022 to inform me about this decision and that this "broken product" will be returned.

Well, today, 25 January 2023, more than a month later, my son still doesn't have a Christmas gift. It was not returned more than a month later after weekly emails. My son is devastated. As a parent I am livid, because my son has been disappointed.

No watch and no credit. I am so sorry Takealot. You have broken my son's heart. Goodbye forever
