Take photos of your returned items when handing over to Takealot.

I had a Western Digital 3TB Purple Drive that I bought last year from Takealot. The drive has a 3 year warranty, which Takealot did not even realise. The drive started running errors so I logged a return on their site. First they argued that it only had a 6 month warranty until I showed them proof from Western Digital's site. They then sent a guy to collect the drive from my home. I handed the drive over to their collection guy and get a message a week later saying that the supplier will not honour the warranty as the drive has been physically damaged. They sent me pictures and it looks like someone dropped the drive as the plastic is cracked on one corner. Takealot then says that they received it at their warehouse like that so I asked what happened if your collection guy dropped it between my house and their warehouse. They are totally unwilling to accept that possibility so all I can do is to warn people that should you ever return something to Takealot that you take it out the box and video/photograph it's condition as you hand it over to their collection personnel so that you can avoid going through the same problems as me.
