"Take" it from me: don't trust Takealot

<p>I have shopped with TakeAlot for close to three years now and have bought many things from them. Here are my experiences:</p> <p> </p> <p>1. They will "guarantee" certain things to you like delivery dates but these are not guarantees apparently, even though you pay extra for them. Yesterday, it happened again and hence my motivation to write this. I frankly do not understand how this is not a breach of contract in terms of contractual law. Legality aside it is shockingly immoral to say the least. Anyways, my point is that you will buy something, pay extra for weekend delivery or same-day delivery and you won't get same-day or weekend delivery even though it will specifically say "guaranteed delivery date." </p> <p> </p> <p>2. They do not know what they actually have in stock. It's happened more than 3 times to me when I order something, wait two or three WEEKS only to get an email that they don't have it in stock. No seriously. So you can't actually trust what is listed on their site. You might get it, you might wait three weeks. It's really a gamble to be honest. But hey, at least you get your money back, interest-free, on your takealot account right? Safest investment ever! (sarcasm is strong with this one).</p> <p> </p> <p>3. They will send things to you that are broken. In point 2 I mentioned long waits and no delivery. Well in one incident I wanted to buy a vacuum. I went through the process in point 2 twice to try and get a friggen vacuum. EVENTUALLY I was lucky enough to get a vacuum actually delivered (I mean it felt like I had won roulette, which I guess is kinda like what shopping with Takealot is like). Well, well, well, the vacuum they sent me was faulty.... imagine my enthusiasm. </p> <p> </p> <p>4. Sometimes they just ship you an empty box. Not even joking. My co-worker bought Apple watch straps from Takealot. One of the two boxes was empty. More like TakeaLITTLE, or TakeNOTHING?</p> <p> </p> <p>5. When you want to return something. Be prepared to WAIT. I once waited 4 days to return something... oh wait, that was the broken vacuum.</p> <p> </p> <p>Anyways, there's five reasons. Must say it does feel good when they actually deliver something. Although I guess it feels good when you win at a roulette table too. Soooooo maybe Takealot should list the gambling addiction number on their website. </p> <p> </p> <p>Hey Takealot, if you're reading this, the order number was ********** 6. Would quite like it if you refund me the extra I paid for my "guaranteed delivery date" in point 1. Or actually I don't care, I'm done with you in any case. Feels like I'm in an abusive relationship and I'm calling it. </p>
