Tablet sold with an expired warranty, exacerbated by underhandedness and lassitude by Takealot

We ordered a Lenovo tablet, which failed about 6 weeks after it was received. When we went to get warranty service, Lenovo informed us that the warranty had expired on 28 June, 2023. We received the tablet on the 22nd. TAL gets the tablets from a 3rd party supplier which gave them invalid credentials on the item. The Lenovo information is correct and this should have been an open and shut case, but TAL is dragging it's feet and insisting that they need to investigate thoroughly. We have sent numerous emails and spoken with them telephonically about 6 times. We sent them screenshots of the Lenovo website, saying that the warranty is expired and we also sent them a photo of the tablet data plate. It has proven difficult to get TAL to look at the attached photos, and so we keep phoning and writing. TAL service has certainly gone down hill in my estimation. So be very careful when buying merchandise from TAL and only buy items where TAL takes responsibility for warranty returns. On a lot of computer items, like this one, they don't. They should take this item back, however, since it was essentially sold with an already expired warranty.
