Supplying tech products that are already in their warranty

Purchased an Apple Pencil 1st Gen, the item was delivered 3 months into it's manufacturer warranty. Apple were willing to replace it, unfortunately the item was no longer covered by Apple due to Takealot selling it to me 3 months into the Apple warranty.

The device has now been with Takealot for over a month and they want to return it to me so I can video the issue - perfect timing as the Takealot warranty will expire this month. Convenient, I'd say.
