Substandard product **** by Takealot

During home renovation bought two awnings through Takealot. The adverti*****t indicated that the awnings were from 'Pegasus'. These awnings were installed by a professional doing other work for us on site. The awnings has only been up for two months when half of the one was blown down from the wall due to plastic fatigue of the bracket. It took two bookings with Takealot as their warehouse wanted the broken pieces wrapped. My request was denied for a refund with a portion of their returns policy was quoted to me. None of the points quoted had any relevance to the broken substandard item. When requesting the suppliers details I was informed that this could not be provided due to POPIA yet the name is on the adverti*****t. When Googling the name Takealot's logo comes up next to the name. After several calls and email exchanges I was promised the matter would be escalated to the warehouse manager. No further communication and the next day the broken piece is delivered back to me, my original packaging not even opened and the item just wrapped in bubblewarp over my original packaging. No recourse, no response other than my profile indicating the return has been completed. Huge **** with substandard items run by Takealot
