****** Vouchers and they just don't care!!

In December last year I had purchased 56 Takealot vouchers to the value of R550 each for a client of mine. After sending the vouchers to them, 3 people came back to say that their vouchers had been redeemed so they could not claim them. I called takealot to find out if they could assist. My first thought was that maybe the same vouchers were sent to 2 staff members by accident so I asked Takealot to tell me just the names of the people that used them (Like Tom or whatever). They refused. They said it goes against their POPI compliance. Honestly, I cannot understand how that can be. I work in events where we print name badges and register people for a living and never has just a name been an issue in terms of POPI. How can 'John Doe' be against POPI? There is nothing I can do with that as there is no other information attached to that and some people even have the same name. They advised that I could send them a list of names and they would advise if any of those names claimed the missing vouchers (Surely me sending them names is against POPI too??) I send them just the names to which they came back to say that none of the names came up on the used vouchers. Feeling frustrated now, I asked what the protocol in place is for this. Can they call the person or send me a report or anything? This is theft now. They came back to say, sorry but nothing can be done and we should go to the police. This is the worst service I could have received. How can they just refuse to assist me. All I asked for was a name. Can you imagine one of the clients children used the voucher or something without telling their parents, then if we had a name it could have been solved ages ago. Im so disappointed at how they do not care about their clients and just refuse to help find alternative solutions. My client has now opted to take legal action against them.
