Steer clear of electronic purchases from takealot

I purchased a tv box which was advertised for dstv on Takealot in January. The device worked perfectly until July, where dstv no longer worked due to it becoming unavailable on that specific tv box. I tried to log a return, but could not because the box was out of warranty (6months) - by days mind you! Then I contacted the helpline twice to be told they cannot do anything because the box is out of warranty. I tried explaining on two occasions that the box is working so the problem is not warranty related - it is licensing related. I have even asked for the matter to be escalated to higher management who could make a decision but this was completely ignored. I am now waiting close to a month as the device goes further and further from the warranty date.

I cant believe they are not willing to assist in any way for something sold by them. They should at least be contacting their supplier with the issue.

I even received a mailer after all this to rate the service of these agents - what a joke! Big Fat Zero from me.
