Sold a Counterfeit Perfume and Refused to Resolve

I purchased a Mousuf Original Eau De Parfum by Ard Al Zaafaran 100ml from Takealot.com, but the product I received was clearly counterfeit. The packaging and quality do not match the authentic product.

When I raised a return request, Takealot refused it, citing their internal return policy, and completely ignored the fact that they had supp**** a **** product. Selling counterfeit goods is ******** under the Consumer Protection Act, and it is not something that can be dismissed as a “policy” matter.

To make matters worse, I posted a review on Takealot’s own platform to warn other customers, but it was removed instead of being addressed transparently. This raises serious concerns about Takealot’s accountability and how they handle counterfeit complaints.

I will be escalating this matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) and the National Consumer Commission (NCC), as consumers deserve protection against counterfeit and misleading products.

I am disappointed with the way Takealot has handled this and expected far better from a company of their size.
