Solar light

We purchased a 600w solar light through Takealot in May 2023. The light worked perfectly until just prior to the warranty expiring in November when rain water seeped into the light unit.

A claim was submitted to @Takealot to honour the warranty within the 6 month period. Our claim was rejected based on:

1) The solar light was installed outdoors. 2) The light fitting was damaged hence water seeped in.

With regard to the above points.

The box clearly states “outdoors” amongst other uses. In any event the light and solar panel has to be mounted outdoors being a solar light to enable charging of the solar panel.

With regard to the light fitting being damaged - there is absolutely no evidence of damage to the unit. The fitting is branded IP66 which is supposed to be waterproof. Further correspondence to Takealot to review their decision met with no response.
