So much for doing the right thing.

This is my story. I ordered a tv stick online and collected at the warehouse. On the day, the people at the warehouse was very unorganized and frantic. At the warehouse on the 26th of August 2021 more than just one person got fruatrated as we we called to collect then requested to sit down again. And then eventually somone on the other side of the floor shouted my name and had my package. At this point, as I was frustrated I just left to get out of the place (the above mentioned is not yet my strife, but it gives some background).

I got home and saw on the box it was a tv box and not stick. I opened the box as I thought it might just be promoting a tv box on the packaging. However, it was a box, which upon checking online saw it is more expensive.

I decided to call takealot and tell them I have a more expensive item, and I would like to return it and get the cheaper item I ordered (as it was the right thing to do). The person asked me to drop it at a drop off point. Which I did. Today, on the 30th August I emailed to get some feedback on the progress. I then got a generic email (this now being the third different person I am in contact with) that the product is in transit to the warehouse abd after inspection I will be credited into my account.

I then rep**** saying this is not what I discussed, I just wanted the item I ordered. However, as the slight incompetence by now got to me, as 3 different people did not listen to what I was saying; I added in the email they sould refund me (and not credit) so I can just forget about the whole ordeal. Bandlakazi.M however thought it would be delightful to forward the exact same generic email (he being the one who sent the genreric email to me the first time too) to me again. Again him not reading my email properly, or just not giving a damn.

I know this is an isolated instance, but incompetence and lack of customer service needs to be pointed out.

I am not a happy shopper. It clearly gets treated like a joke.
