Slow returns & False Promotions

Generally Takealot is easy and pain-free to order from, but their good service really plummets when it comes to logging returns on products that aren't satisfactory. I ordered a Baby Einstein jumper for my little one from them that was marked 60% off on their website. It was priced at R1999. I later saw they had the same jumper listed, but at it's original price of R2699. Didn't think much of this as I had already ordered it on the sale price. The jumper that arrived was not even almost the same one as I had ordered. It was branded a Tiibaby product and had less features and height settings as the one wanted. This jumper is currently listed with them as well for only R1399. At no point was I informed that a different and much cheaper jumper would be delivered because they didn't have stock. It is however available if you buy it for the R2699 price. I believe Takealot sent me the wrong jumper because they realized I had purchased a promotion they had no intention of fulfilling any longer, but its still active and advertising at that price as I type this. They then send you an alternate product in the hope that you'll just accept it and if not, just give you your money back because they aren't willing to give you the jumper at the sale price they are actively still advertising. I of course then logged a return and requested that the correct jumper be sent. This took 3 working days to process (including a weekend) where to no surprise I was then told that item is not longer in stock and I would be refunded. They never reached out when delivering the cheaper jumper to me to say that the R600 I've paid in access would be credited. That's attempting to *****ing money from a hard working parent if I might go as far as saying that. If the same product is listed on their website twice but one is on sale for a lesser amount, please don't waste your time or money. You will not be getting the item for the sale price they have displayed. Takealot should regularly remove old or inactive promotions so as to avoid incidents like this. It confuses clients and results in disappointment.
