Skip Takealot Aliexpress is cheaper and has better backup

Be wary of shopping at this business. I bought a La Cie "indestructible never fail toughest hard drive" and various other claims from them, I spent R6k, about 3.5 x the going rate largely on the strength of a 3 year guarantee. Well the drive failed, it has a very small power plug on it and to preserve the plug and determine if the power supply or hard drive had failed, I cut and stripped the wires back to apply a multimeter. I found the power supply was faulty and tried An alternative unit and so doing determined the hard drive was also toast, doubtless the one caused the other. Packed the whole lot up and returned to takealot with a description of circumstances above. Next thing I get an email, not covered under guarantee because the power supply has been altered. Duh genius. I have now sent the hard drive to the UK, for R6k I can't throw it away. Takealot wouldn't respond to my challenge on their bad decision, until I sent them an email telling how cooperative and friendly la cie was in the UK. and that on the strength of the total absence of backup service, I would never shop there again. They called up the next day to try and defend the absence of backup. Trying to justify there nonchalant ****** you attitude. I won't shop there again, I can get goods for half the price directly from AliExpress in china, also without after sales service, so why should I fill their useless coffers for no return on my investment.
