Sitting pretty. Why care if you can just hide behind a screen, right?

There are online companies that are not client-facing but will still give it their all when it comes to customer service. And then, unfortunately, there are online companies that believe that, because they are not client-facing, they have no reason to put any effort into customer service at all. Takealot.com evidently falls into the latter. They obviously have so many customers that they couldn't care less about losing a couple hundred a day, because they won't even feel it. They're well-off and well-fed. They're also well-rested, and care-free knowing that they are untouchable - they sit comfortably, knowing that they are safely hidden behind their screens as they callously disrespect the very people who have supported them and helped them get to where they are today.

It's Disheartening. It's utterly disgusting. Zero humility, zero respect, zero empathy, zero consideration.

So blinded by success that they have forgotten how they achieved that success. Their customers are no longer seen as human beings who should be valued for their positive contribution. Instead, they see their customers as nothing more than numbers. Takealot.com is doing great, disappointing the odd few customers won't affect them at all, why should they care?

They completely disregard the fact that they are negatively impacting the lives of individuals because they choose to ignore the fact that their customers are human beings, each on their own journey through life. Ignorance is bliss when you can just pretend that you aren't potentially damaging the lives of others.

It's quite possible that some may believe this review to be melodramatic, and that's okay, we're all entitled to our own opinions, but perhaps you are willing to consider the following:

One never truly knows what another is dealing with - On one hand, an order that Takealot.com carelessly bungles may do nothing more than slightly inconvenience the human who placed it. On the other hand, it's just as possible that Takealot.com may cause significant, irreparable damage by refusing to take responsibility for another one of their careless mistakes.

Let that sink in.
