Sitting on a chair counts as abuse apparently

I ordered a cecil nurse office chair from takealot

I didnt have any complaints about the chair itself. Fairly comfortable and all the rest.

However last weekend I heard a strange sound and noticed my backrest seemed skew. The backrest is attached underneath the seat with 4 bolts that fit into grommets that are set into the wood and plastic.

One of the bolt grommets had ripped out of the wood and torn through the plastic, meaning it no longer supported the backrest.

I attempted to return the product but takealot rejected my return on the grounds that it was: "damage arising from negligence, user abuse or incorrect usage of the product;"

I am not sure how sitting on the chair constitutes negligence, abuse, or incorrect usage. So buyers beware.
