Shocking Service and Deception – Avoid Takealot!

I recently inquired about purchasing a Samsung S24+ from Takealot, and the experience was a complete nightmare. The product was listed with a 6-month warranty, even though Samsung offers a 24-month warranty directly. When I contacted Takealot, they promised to follow up with their product team. Two days later, they told me that the 6-month warranty was facilitated by Takealot, and anything beyond that needed to be dealt with through Samsung. I had already confirmed with Samsung that this wasn’t the case and asked Takealot to take responsibility. They eventually admitted the product comes with a 24-month warranty, excluding physical damages, and that the listing was wrong. They assured me the website would be updated, but here we are—it's August 14th, and nothing has changed since my original request on August 7th.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, by the time I went to buy the product, the price had gone up! I contacted Takealot again, explaining that due to their delays and poor communication, I was now stuck paying more. They claimed they’d escalate it to the product team, but I received no response. After countless calls, I finally spoke to a manager who outright refused to take responsibility, saying they had no control over the situation.

This is completely unacceptable. I now fully agree with Carte Blanche’s report on counterfeit products being sold by Takealot and the numerous negative reviews about their service. I’ve been a customer since their Take2 days, and it’s clear they’ve become a careless monopoly with zero regard for their customers.

Avoid Takealot at all costs!
