Shocking customer service when it comes to returns of defective goods

I recently purchased a Dell laptop from TakeAlot that was defective.

After returning it , I requesteda full refund TakeAlot informed me that they can not assist me because I need to contact dell directly.

This is ludicrous, my purchase agreement is between myself and TakeAlot and I have need to deal with a third party.

As such, why should I accept disintermediation of TakeAlot's purchase agreement responsibilities and associated consumer protection responsibilities from TakeAlot to a third party (the manufacturer)????

I bought the product from TakeAlot and NOT the manufacturer.

I bought the defective (with confirmation of the defect below) product from TakeAlot and expected a full refund from TakeAlot.

To this day TakeAlot has not refunded me, nor have they send me a replacemnet product.

" We have received and evaluated your returned item and at the end of assessment have found the Ac adapter to be faulty.

Please be advised that Dell has implemented a new policy for any units that are still within its 1 year warranty.

Dell strictly requested for all returns request to be facilitated by them.

You need to please contact dell support directly and request for further assistance.

"
