Shocked....very disappointed

We've ordered a product for our daughter, her gift for Christmas. When I wrapped the gift I noticed the box of package looked like it was in a warzone. When she opened the package and wanted to charge it, there was no connection point in the device. I was so disappointed which soon turned to disgust when I realized this very same package was sent by someone else previously and the broken/damaged item was shipped to us. Don't they have a department that remove the damaged items from the working one's?
