Sending damaged goods in poor packaging

I ordered 2 chairs and was received by our receiver at our company , chair arrived in poor packaging and on further inspection one of the legs were broken. A return was logged and a takealot driver pitches at premises late afternoon when o wasmt available. He promises to collect the following Monday and never arrives . This was intended as a gift and wasn't able to give it to the person intended for.
