Scapegoats loyal customers, does Dr. Evil "Pinky laugh".

I purchased a Transcend 128GB SSD from Takealot less than a year ago. I installed it the day I received the drive (roughly end of July 2016) and closed the machine up.

3 weeks ago, the drive melts at the power connector, melts the power connector and the cables connected to it. How does one explain that?

Takealot says that damage of this nature is considered "Damages resulting from inappropriate use, abuse or neglegence".

Really? I have been building and rebuilding computers since I was 8 years old. NEVER seen anything like it. Never heard of anything like it. Don't know anyone who has.

So a hard drive sits in a PC for almost a year, seemingly happy with the way it was mounted, happy with the way its cables were plugged in, generally, all is well, for nearly a year (on a product that carries a 3 year warranty that definitely covers factory defects), and suddenly without human intervention, the drive short-circuits, melts itself and all cables attached to it, and this is human error? Not a factory fault?

I have a Corsair 60GB SSD drive that is installed in an identical machine, with IDENTICAL cables, and has been in that machine for 3 years. If this is my fault, my negligence, why hasn't 60GB Corsair SSD melted yet?

Takealot dot com. Your refusal to replace a R900 piece of **** SSD from Transcend, (or at least your inability to secure a replacement drive from the manufacturer) has lost you a very lucritive customer. I have been buying products from you for over 9 years now. I have purchased high-priced items, a Canon 70d, a computer monitor, a computer case, two camera lenses, and several other very expensive items, on which I am sure you made a nice profit. No more. I will not support you again, and I will make sure that no friend or family member that values my opinion ever supports you again.

Because you value money, not loyalty. You value revenue and profits above the wellbeing and satisfaction of your customers. I can't work with a company like that.

Goodbye.
