Same day delivery does not mean same day delivery
I am very upset. This morning at 8 am I phoned Takealot to ask whether the dvd I wanted to order could in fact be delivered today at my work address by 1545. Yes, no problem, I was told. So I coughed up the R50 delivery fee. Now, an hour and a half before the scheduled delivery I get a phone call from the delivery company to say the parcel hasn't \reached the branch\" and that therefore delivery will not in fact take place before 1545. But is 1900 ok? No, Takealot, it isn't. I would not have placed the order if you had expressed the slightest doubt this morning about whether the delivery would be possible. Poor poor poor service. Not for the first time either. And then you tell me oh ok I can come and fetch the parcel myself. What?

So this is just a heads up to anyone who wants to cough up R50 for sameday delivery with Takealot. Same day delivery is NOT same day delivery and they will promise you what you want to hear till they have your order and money and then all bets are off.

I realise same day delivery is difficult, but then don't offer it if you can't deliver!!!"
