Robot Vacuum

Late last year I purchased a robot vacuum from Takealot (a Bennett Read product). In February this year I had to return it to a TEVO service centre 50kms from my home to be repaired. I now find myself in the position again where the vacuum require some attention as it is not operating properly. I decided to rather phone Takealot Head Office in order to return the product for a refund. I was inform that I could not return the vacuum as as the product only had a 6 month warranty. Surely Takealot has to guarantee the product for at least 12 months??? The consumer Guarantee in the user guide states 1 year Guarantee but if one registers the purchase within 14 days, Tevo will extend the guarantee to 2 years.
