********** seller on Takealot.com - not worth it
<p>Dear Takelot, Mr Cohen and family. I have a product listed on your site. In order to sell it I have been asked to send 30 items to each warehouse. So I did. Not I have been billed almost R 2000 for 'storage'. Its a R129 item. ***!? Twice now my request for deal of the day has been declined, that's two months in a row, then I got this email with my bill. Is this business as usual?</p> <p>I have made sales, only to have them eaten away by your additional storage fees. There are listing feees for each product, handling fees, success fees and now double up storage fees. This is not worth using as a service.</p>

Complete ripoff with hidden fees. So I had a phone call. Nothing they can do except sigh. I just saw another fee that gets tacked on. There is a Subscription fee, a Storage fee a Handling fee and a Success Fee for every sale. Storage fee views your stock or items the same way, whether its a double bed or a 10cm item. Same fee. In this way its cheaper to dropship from China then to manufacture anything local. It is what it is. I will no longer deal with Takealot.com. If you are thinking of selling online, rather put up your own site and get courier to collect and deliver. I received a bill of R 2000 for having 40 odd items the size of 2 cigarette boxes, in a box on their shelf. Renting a garage/container is cheaper.
