Ridiculous Service on Cancellation of Order!

I placed a order on Friday, 18 December the evening for delivery the Saturday - when I checked the Saturday I noted it would only be delivered on the 27th (which would not work as it is after Christmas). At 6am that morning I cancelled the order as I cannot give a Christmas present to a 9 year old 2 days after Christmas.

When I followed up on this I got told it would take 4 days for this cancellation to be processed. How does a cancellation take 4 days!!!! Now after back and forth for 5 days I get told that I have to wait for the parcel to arrive at the courier facility before cancellation and my refund can take place.

I had to now go out and spend double the amount to be able to get my son his Christmas present, had to use money I don't have to waste and I am still left in the dark and by the looks of things I wont get my money back until the new year...

This is ridiculous!!! Since when do you have to wait for a package to arrive at a courier facility to be able to issue a cancellation!!!!!
