ridiculous

I placed an order yesterday for a kookaburra bag and was only contacted now stating that the supplier is out of stock. why did my order go through then? This is ridiculous as this is a present, I understand that with the blue dot sale things will go out really quickly...however in saying that it is takealot's responsibility to ensure that their website reflects the correct information.
