Rica o Telkom Simcard

I bought a little 3G Telkom router which included a free 12month 1GB data. I went down to Telkom to Rica this and was told this should have been Rica by Take a Lot I did ask the delivery guy if he don't need any proof that I am the right person taking the parcel an he says no. I am used to let my Proof of Address and my ID be scanned that was the case with My Rain sim card and that way I ma instantly ricad

Please advise how I go about now as I have a simcard with data that means nothing as I can not use it?
