Return Rejection – Kärcher FJ 10 C

Generally, I’ve had no issues with Takealot until now. I recently purchased a Kärcher FJ 10 C from you. Despite initial difficulty connecting it to my Karcher K2—which led me to suspect it might be defective—I proceeded to use it, hoping the issue would resolve.

When I requested a return for a replacement, your returns team (Titanian.M) rejected it with the reason:

“Our returns policy states that a return can only be accepted if the item is unused.”

This reasoning is unreasonable in the context of a mechanical product. Defects often only become apparent during normal use, and it is not possible to confirm such faults without using the item. Applying a blanket “unused only” condition to mechanical items effectively denies customers their rights under consumer protection laws.

I request that this matter be reviewed and that my return for the defective Kärcher FJ 10 C be processed accordingly.
