Return of Faulty Products not sufficiently handled

I bought a Mellerware Blender from takealot not to long ago. The product arrived on time and the entire process was very quick. After 3 weeks of using the product (still within its 2 year warranty) my wife pored hot water into the glass jug in order to wash it properly. The jug then made a crack and we logged a return to takealot as this kind of thing is not suppose to happen. The product was collected at our home in Pretoria (in one piece) with everything in the box and couriered to Cape Town for inspection. We got an email a week later stating that the product was clearly dropped and broken by us and they will not replace the Blender. They included pictures of the product and that was definitely not how we gave the product back to takealot. This is a serious slap in the face for me as they are undermining my Integrity, as I would never return a product if it is my fault that the product is damaged. They clearly did not take into account that the product might have been damaged in the shipment to Cape Town and just blamed me for the damage. Why should I then log a return and give them a specific reason for why the product is being returned. They also ask me to reply on the email with a response. I did reply without any feedback from them and then 2 days later they delivered the broken product to my doorstep. I have purchase a lot of products from them but if this is how they treat customers when there is factory errors in Products then I don't know if I will be using them anymore.
