Return Frustration: Dealing with Takealot's Return Process

I am increasingly frustrated with Takealot's return policy, which has transformed from a once straightforward process into a nightmarish ordeal. The company is now distributing subpar products from suppliers and refusing to refund me for a defective item. On November 8, 2023, I purchased an iPhone 4-in-1 charger and data cable, only to have the pin break off in my cell phone just five days later.

My initial return was rejected, claiming the damage was my fault and that the product had been opened and used. I returned it again on November 13, 2023, only to be informed that it was unsealed, and thus, they couldn't process the return. It's common sense to open and use an item after purchasing it, and yet, this seems to be held against me.

Throughout this ordeal, I've interacted with seven different consultants, sent numerous daily emails, and as of November 21, 2023, the issue remains unresolved. To add to the frustration, I've been instructed to take a picture of the defective item, even though I haven't even received it back from Takealot. It's a simple request—replace the item or refund my money. The constant bureaucratic hurdles and unnecessary emails are not only wasting my time but also testing my patience.
