Return declined because someone at Takealot opened the package

I bought a cellphone from Takealot and received it on the 1st of July, unfortunately I'm had to return it the next day 2 July as we nolonger needed it. I did not open the phone, I returned it in its original condition. I even packed and sealed it in front of the driver who collected it. Unfortunately my return was declined because someone opened the phone at Takealot. I have sent emails to that effect, and made a call and spoke to an agent who escalated the matter to no avail. It's been 1 week and I have no feedback on the matter, neither have I received the phone back nothing.
