Return declined

I bought a cycling Bib for my husband as a Christmas present. After opening it on Christmas, it was way too small. I immediately logged a return only now to be advised that the return has been declined as it is outside the 30 day period. This is ridiculous. I ordered it early to avoid the Christmas rush. I have ordered a replacement already. This is going against all principles of treating customers fairly.
