REFUSING TO ACCEPT RETURN OF XMAS PRESENT ORDERED IN ERROR

I realised I had ordered the Xbox Live instead of the Xbox Game Pass. I logged a return and was informed that they won't accept the return because it is a "digital item". This is unacceptable as the code is a once off code - it cannot be replicated. This is a Xmas and 18th birthday present and now I am left with something I can't even use. Yes, I admit I made the error in the first place, but I have spent THOUSANDS with takealot in the last few months! You would think they would accept the return, be able to see it is unused and issue resolved. Instead they play hardball...
