Refusal to refund

I returned an item that I purchased, I chose the option that I “changed my mind “ as I was in hospital and did not know if I would use it. When I arrived home I opened the takealot box and found that the items box was completely broken. Now my return has been denied. This is absolutely shocking as I have spent thousands of rands on Takealot. I buy monthly from them. Disgusted to be honest .
