Refund refused

I bought a generic gaming controller my son was able to use it for about 2 weeks then it got banned by Xbox as not authorized device. I then returned it to Takealot as it was still under warranty they refused to refund me they are claiming the controller is damaged of which that is not true they returned it back to me. What do they expect me to do with this thing as it is banned by Xbox my son cannot use it
